Apple CEO Tim Cook Plans to Donate $1 Million to Trump’s Inauguration

This places Cook alongside other prominent executives like OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos

Apple CEO Tim Cook has joined a growing list of tech leaders contributing to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund, pledging $1 million, according to Axios. This donation places Cook alongside other prominent executives like OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (via Amazon), and Meta, as Big Tech figures seek to build rapport with the incoming administration.

Cook has cultivated a notable connection with Trump, a strategy other tech leaders may aim to emulate. He was quick to congratulate Trump on his election victory and has held meetings with him at both Trump Tower and the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, as previously reported by Axios and The New York Times.

Elon Musk also made a notable appearance during these interactions, briefly attending a dinner with Cook and Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Axios reports. Musk had earlier joined Bezos for a December meeting with Trump.

Sources close to the matter told Axios that Cook views the inauguration as a celebration of American tradition. A proud Alabama native, Cook is said to have made the donation in the spirit of unity. While Cook is contributing personally, Apple itself is reportedly not expected to donate. The company has not yet commented on the matter.
