Cambodia Blocks Access to 16 Crypto Exchanges
The move aims to crack down on platforms operating without proper licenses from the SERC
Cambodia has taken a decisive step to regulate its cryptocurrency landscape by blocking access to 16 crypto exchange websites, including prominent platforms like Binance, Coinbase, and OKX. The move, executed by the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC), aims to crack down on platforms operating without proper licenses from the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC).
The TRC’s directive, signed by acting chairman Srun Kimsann, targeted a total of 102 domains, primarily focusing on crypto exchanges and online gambling sites. However, while access to these websites has been restricted, the mobile applications associated with these platforms remain accessible.
