"Adding a Bitcoin marketplace is really exciting for our team, considering it is the grandfather of all blockchains and we are all passionate about blockchain. Bitcoin Ordinals bring a whole new dimension into the universe of NFTs,β Magic Eden CEO Jack Lu said in a press release.
βββββ ββ
βOn Bitcoin, all media that is uploaded onto the chain cannot be changed or removed. βThis simplicity is embraced by many creators who want to create true collectibles that are inscribed onto the chain.β
βββββ ββ
For Magic Edenβs beta launch of its Bitcoin Marketplace, it selected 13 collections to partner with, including Taproot Wizards, Inscribed Pepes, and Bitcoin Bandits.
βββββ ββ
The Ordinals protocol was introduced in January by former Bitcoin core contributor Casey Rodarmor. Since then, the popularity of Bitcoin Ordinals has surged.
βββββ ββ
According to data from Dune analytics, between February 1st and March 1st, the total number of Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions rose from 679 to 243,419. As of March 22nd, a total of 571,384 have been inscribed.

Tech Special
Microsoft announced Tuesday that its AI-enabled Bing will now allow users to generate images with Bing Chat. This new feature is powered by DALL-E, OpenAIβs generative image generator.
βββββ ββ
Dubbed the βBing Image Creator,β this new capability is rolling out to users in the Bing preview and will initially only be available through Bingβs Creative Mode.
βββββ ββ
The tool will also be available in Microsoft Edge, making it "the first and only browser with an integrated AI-powered image generator."
βββββ ββ
βBy typing in a description of an image, providing additional context like location or activity, and choosing an art style, Image Creator will generate an image from your own imagination,β explained Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoftβs head of consumer marketing.
βββββ ββ
After Microsoft's Bing chatbot was unleashed on the world last month, users quickly discovered it was 'unhinged.' With this release, Microsoft ensured that things will go smoother:
βββββ ββ
βWe have ensured OpenAIβs safeguards, plus additional protections, have been incorporated into Image Creator,β said Mehdi. βFor example, we have put controls in place that aim to limit the generation of harmful or unsafe images. When our system detects that a potentially harmful image could be generated by a prompt, it blocks the prompt and warns the user.β
βββββ ββ
Microsoft also announced that new AI-powered visual stories and knowledge cards are now available to all Bing users.
βββββ ββ
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates says that OpenAI's GPT AI model could be as revolutionary as the graphical user interface was in 1980.
βββββ ββ
In a blog post on Tuesday, Gates wrote that he challenged the OpenAI team in mid-2022 to develop an artificial intelligence model that could pass the Advanced Placement Biology exam.
βββββ ββ
A few months later they revealed the results - a near perfect score, he said, missing only one mark out of 60.
βββββ ββ
"The whole experience was stunning," Gates wrote. "I knew I had just seen the most important advance in technology since the graphical user interface."
βββββ ββ
"The development of AI is as fundamental as the creation of the microprocessor, the personal computer, the Internet, and the mobile phone. It will change the way people work, learn, travel, get health care, and communicate with each other. Entire industries will reorient around it. Businesses will distinguish themselves by how well they use it," he continued.
βββββ ββ
Gates also addressed concerns around AI, including the risk that humans will misuse it, as well as the possibility of a βsuper-intelligentβ AI that could "establish their own goals" as technology advances.
βββββ βββββββ ββ
In the workforce, Gates believes that AI will serve as a βdigital personal assistantβ that can draft emails, monitor schedules, and take notes.
βββββ ββ
These abilities will cause massive workplace shifts, which will encourage governments to βhelp workers transition into other roles,β he wrote.
βββββ ββ
However, he argued that the rise of AI will free people up to do things that software never will, such as βcaring for patients and supporting the elderly.β
βββββ ββ
This prediction comes days after Microsoft introduced a new AI-powered Co-pilot for its Microsoft 365 apps, designed to assist users with generating documents, emails, presentations, and much more.
